At the age of just 27, Simone Naicker – one of our Process Engineers at Belfast Coal Mine – has been identified as a high-performing millennial in the mining space and was invited by the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) to host the My Tiara is a Hard Hat – The Mining Millennial webinar on 3 September 2020 at 12:00.

The talented engineer will represent young mining professionals, discussing her own story as a millennial in the industry and some of the challenges she has faced. Simone will also be discussing how companies can retain their millennial talent and what a conducive working environment looks like for millennial miners.

Working at Belfast Coal, our digital and connected mine, Simone is enthusiastic about innovation, value chain optimisation and coherent work cultures. She also enjoys building productive teams through the application of her expertise and flair.
