Exxaro delivers on guidance, achieving exceptional export performance, improves safety performance, and maintains superior shareholder returns

Exxaro’s performance for the 2024 financial year demonstrated resilience and continued operational excellence. Our net cash position increased to R16.3bn (excluding Energy’s net debt) by the end of 2024, compared to R14.8bn at the end of 2023. As such the Board resolved to embark on a share repurchase programme of R1.2 billion subject to the prevailing market conditions and JSE Listings Requirements. The Board approved a gross final cash dividend of R8.66 per share, for the year ended 31 December 2024. Additionally, the Board approved a R1.2 billion share repurchase programme, subject to prevailing market conditions and JSE Listings Requirements.

Exxaro Resources, South Africa’s black empowered diversified minerals and energy solutions business released its full-year financial results for the year ended 31 December 2024. Despite the challenging operational landscape and market conditions, the performance demonstrates resilience in a dynamic industry, reinforcing commitment to the group’s strategic objectives as well as value creation for stakeholders. Some of the highlights include 28 consecutive months without work related fatalities and improving lost time injury frequency rate. This demonstrates Exxaro’s effective safety strategy and dedication of all employees to towards reaching our goal of Zero-Harm.

EXXARO COMMEMORATES MANDELA DAY BY INSPIRING AND EDUCATING THE YOUTH

In honour of Mandela Day this past weekend, black-empowered mining leader Exxaro, continued its unwavering commitment to supporting South African youth in need. One of the company’s core operations, Exxaro Coal Central (ECC), pulled out all the stops to ensure that the needs of our future leaders at Bonani Primary School and Lethithemba Drop-In Centre were catered for. ECC, in partnership with their mining contractors Stefanutti Stocks and Kwena Mining Project donated kitchen appliances, a kitchen container and dignity packs to the school in Kriel. The mine ensured that the drop-in centre’s roof was replaced from asbestosis to a corrugated iron roof, while the pupils were equally treated to a few dignity packs.

EXXARO UNITES TO POWER BETTER LIVES FOR SOUTH AFRICAN STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

After months of home-schooling and e-learning, South African learners in their final years of primary and high school, have finally been given the go-ahead to return to class as the COVID-19 lockdown is eased. On Monday 8 June, most public and independent schools across the country reopened with grade 7 and 12 students being the first group to be phased in. Another cluster of grades is set to return to school on 6 July with the final pupils filtering in on 3 August. With this in mind, a group of six Exxaro employees came together to donate 200 masks to Emasangweni Primary School in Mamelodi. Handmade with care, these protective masks were given to grade 7 learners and teachers at the school to limit the spread of COVID-19.
